1. Recently, Anti-Tank Guided Missile ‘HELINA ‘was successfully flight-tested at a high-altitude range on 11 April 2022.

A) This anti-tank was jointly conducted by the Indian Army and Indian Air Force and Defence Research and Development Organisation(DRDO).

B) The flight trials were conducted from an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) and the missile was fired successfully engaging a simulated tank target. 

2. The supply of fortified rice through the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), by 2024 has been approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs.

A) The government has envisaged three phases for the full implementation of this initiative which are Phase-I(By March 2022), Phase II (By March 2023)and Phase Ill (By March 2024).

B) 88.65 LMT of fortified rice has already been procured by the Food Corporation of India and other state agencies for distribution and supply.

3. The ‘Airport as Venue for Skilled Artisans of the Region’ (AVSAR) scheme has been launched by the Airport Authority of India (AAI).

A) This scheme encourages the talent of craftsmen, women, and artisans and provides them with proper opportunities.

B) This initiative will strengthen the SHGs by providing them with visibility and preparing them to market and promote their products to a wider spectrum by reaching out to a larger population from the country outside the country.

4. The continuation of the Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) has been approved by the Union Cabinet until March 2023. 

A) The AIM will be working on creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem and innovation culture in India.

B) The focus of the Atal Innovation Mission lies in the creation of necessary institutions and infrastructure to promote innovation across the country.

5. Recently, the RBI announced a cardless cash withdrawal facility has been made available at all ATMs.

A) This facility will be made available via the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) irrespective of the bank.

B) Unified Payments Interface (UPI) has been developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

6. On 11th April 2022, India and the United States will be holding a 2 plus 2 Defence and Foreign Ministry dialogue in Washington.

A) In this dialogue, topics like the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership between India and the US will be discussed.

B) In this dialogue building and fortifying supply chains will also be given importance. India will also be talking about the rise in commodity prices due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis.

7. On 10th April 2022, President Ramnath Kovind inaugurated the annual Madhavpur Mela.

A) It is a five-day cultural fair that is held in Madhavpur, the coastal village, located 60 kilometres south of Porbandar.

B) This festival celebrates the marriage of Lord Krishna with Rukmini.

8. Dipika Pallikal won the mixed doubles and women’s doubles championships at the World Doubles Squash Championships. 

A) India had never won gold in the World Doubles Squash Championships and this is the first time the country has won the gold medal in this tournament.

B) In the mixed doubles, Joshna Chinappa and Vikram Malhotra finished tenth after losing 11-4, 11-6 to Aifa Azman and Mohammad Syafiq Kamal of Malaysia.

9. On 11th April 1827, Jyotirao Phule was born.

A) He was an anti-caste reformer and social activist along with his wife Savitribai Phule.

B) He was born in Pune, British India into a family belonging to the Mali caste, growing vegetables, and fruits for a living.

C) The title of ‘Mahatma’ (‘great soul’) was given to him in 1888 by another social activist Vithalrao Krishnaji Vandekar.

10. Recently, the RBI has proposed modifying the existing payment settlement norms for imports and exports through e-commerce.

A) The draft guidelines named ‘Processing and Settlement of small value Export and Import related payments’ that are facilitated by Online Export-Import Facilitators (OEIF) have been issued by the RBI.

B) Currently, the banks are permitted by the RBI to offer the facility of settlement and the processing of export and import-related remittances.
