1. Sri Lanka announced a 51 billion dollar debt default to combat the financial crisis.

A) Despite economic strains in the past, Sri Lanka has maintained an unblemished record of debt servicing that made the country a favourable partner for creditors.

B) India recently extended a billion-dollar credit line to help Sri Lanka import essential items.

2. India’s retail inflation accelerated to 6.95 per cent in March.

A) Consumers in rural India faced a higher level of inflation than urban residents, with overall rural inflation higher at 7.66 per cent.

B) According to CRISIL chief economist Dharmakirti Joshi, Our analysis shows the poor are bearing the burden of inflation the most.

3. Recently, NITI Aayog launched the State Energy and Climate Index (SECI).

A) This is the first of its kind index that aims to track the efforts made in the climate and energy sector by the states and UTs of India.

B) This index has also helped to move toward the agenda of the accessible, affordable, clean, and efficient energy transition at the State level.

4. On 12th April 2022 Helina, the Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) was tested in northern mountain regions.

A) The test was conducted as part of the ongoing user validation trials of this missile’s third-generation ‘fire-and-forget’ class missile.

B) This missile has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).

C) The maximum range of this missile is 7 kilometres.

5. Recently several megalithic stone jars have been discovered in the Dima Hasao district of Assam.

A) This discovery has highlighted the second millennium BC, between the Northeast region and Southeast Asia.

B) In a site named Nuchubunglo, 546 jars were discovered making it the largest such site across the planet.

C) Laos and Indonesia are the only two other sites from where similar jars have been discovered.

6. Manoj Sinha has launched ‘Connect to Opportunities Initiative Name as AVSAR.

A) This is a dedicated portal that will be used to connect job aspirants of the Jammu & Kashmir with the industry.

B) This newly launched initiative has the aim of creating more than 10,000 job opportunities for the aspirants of UT in 2022.

7. The 2026 Commonwealth Games will be hosted in Victoria, Australia.

A) In 2018, Australia hosted the Games on the Gold Coast and the 2006 edition of the games was hosted in Melbourne.

B) the 2022 edition of the games from 28th July to 8th August will be hosted in Birmingham, England.

8. On 12th April 2022, the Government of India and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a USD 2 million Project Readiness Financing(PRF).

A) This loan is being given for strengthening the designing urban infrastructures and improving the mobilization of municipal resources in Nagaland’s 16 districts’ headquarters towns.

B) The PRF loan will help in the facilitation of various key preparatory activities to ensure projects that are aimed to improve urban infrastructure and other services to boost the economic potential of Nagaland.

9. The World Trade Organization (WTO) has revised its global trade growth forecast this year from 4.7 percent to 3 per cent.

A) This prediction was forecast due to the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war.

B) The WTO has forecasted that the global trade growth in 2022 will be 3 per cent while in 2023 it would rise to 3.4 per cent.

10. Recently, the Central Government has completed the total asset monetisation worth Rs 96,000 crore in the financial year 2022.

A) For the financial year 2023, the pipeline for the assets that will be monetised is being prepared by NITI Aayog in consultation with various ministries of the central government.

B) In the financial year 2022 the monetisation was led by the power, roads, coal and mining ministries based on the innovative models of the Toll Operate Transfer (ToT) and Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvITs).
