1. The Indian Navy has successfully test-fired a naval anti-ship missile.
A) The test was conducted at the Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Odisha’s Balasore.
B) The Indian Navy has been steadily enhancing its overall combat capability to effectively protect India’s maritime security interests, particularly in the Indian Ocean region.
C) Recently, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has launched two frontline warships of the Indian Navy.
The ships — INS Surat and INS Udaygiri — were launched at the Mazagon Docks Limited (MDL) in Mumbai.
2. The Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann heard the grievances of the people of the state and issued redressal directions in the ‘Lok Milni’ programme.
A) This interactive programme was launched with the aim of providing a platform to the people of the state for the redressal of the complaints that they have.
B) During this ‘Lok Milni’ programme, around 61 complainants listed their grievances before Bhagwant Mann. The top officers of the state were directed by the chief minister to ensure that the complaints are resolved at the earliest.
3. Recently, The first Indian layman Devasahayam Pillai has been declared a saint by the Vatican.
A) Devasahayam Pillai was born on April 23, 1712, in Nattalam village in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu. Devasahayam served in the court of Marthanda Varma of Travancore. He insisted on the equality of all people.
B) Devasahayam Pillai was shot dead on January 14th, 1752. He is considered a martyr, and his mortal remains were placed in Saint Francis Xavier’s Cathedral in Kottar, Nagercoil.
C) According to the Vatican, he is given sainthood because he endured hardships after embracing Christianity.
4. Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar has launched National Emergency Life Support (NELS) courses for Doctors, Nurses and Paramedics.
A) Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Dr Bharati Pravin Pawar today launched National Emergency Life Support (NELS) courses for doctors, nurses and paramedics.
B) Apart from the training modules, the program also includes developing training infrastructure in all States/UTs to implement the NELS course and creating a cadre of trainers to train doctors, nurses and paramedics working in emergency departments of the hospitals and ambulance services.

6. Ruchi Soya has sealed a deal to acquire Patanjali Ayurved’s food retail business.
A) The acquired food business comprises 21 major products namely ghee, honey, spices, juices and atta, etc., the company informed in an exchange filing.
B) The acquisition is valued at a Fair Market value (Net) of Rs 690 crore based on all the fixed assets of Food division & respective current assets on slump sale basis.
C) The company said that the Patanjali Ayurved Ltd Board has also approved this transfer of food business to Ruchi Soya with an effective date of May 09.
7. NASA prepares to bring the Artemis I Moon rocket SLS to the launchpad.
A) NASA’s teams at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida continue to prepare the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft back to launch pad 39B for its next wet dress rehearsal.
B) The team also replaced the helium check valve on the “interim cryogenic propulsion stage” (ICPS). During this, they found a damaged rubber O-ring seal in the area that separates the ICPS from the mobile launcher during launch.
8. The Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal has resigned due to personal reasons.
A) He has sent his resignation to President Ram Nath Kovind. Baijal has served a long tenure of more than 5 years and 4 months.
B)Baijal is a 1969 batch IAS officer of AGMUT cadre, serving in the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territories. He has served in Delhi as a former vice-chairman of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA).
9. The United States will provide India $500 mn military aid to reduce Russia dependence.
A) The effort is part of a much larger initiative by President Joe Biden’s administration to court India as a long-term security partner, despite its reluctance to criticize Russia for its invasion of Ukraine.
B) The package under consideration would include foreign military financing of as much as $500 million dollars, according to one person, which would make India one of the largest recipients of such aid behind Israel and Egypt.
