1. Recently, the Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen.Manoj Pande has been appointed the 29th Chief of the Army Staff.
A) He will take over on April 30 when the incumbent, General Manoj Naravane is set to retire.
B) Lt.Gen. Pande is a graduate of Staff College, Camberley, United Kingdom and attended the higher command course at army war college, Mhow and National Defence College at Delhi.
2.Recently,Mobile app was launched for Khelo India University Games.
A) This is the second edition of the khelo India University Games to be held in Bengaluru.
B) The unique ‘Khelo India Uni Games 2021’ mobile app provides a one-stop-shop for all information regarding the prestigious event scheduled to begin on April 24.
3. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to inaugurate the first-ever Semicon India 2022 conference in Bengaluru.
A) A 3-day conference is being organized to take forward the vision to make India a leader in electronics manufacturing, semiconductor design, manufacturing & innovation.
B) Semicon India 2022 Conference will be organised by the Ministry of Electronics & Information from April 29 to 01 May 2022.
C) This conference was organised under the theme of -Design and Manufacture in India, for the World: Making India a; Semiconductor Nation’.
4. Recently, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs organised the ‘Smart cities, Smart Urbanization’ conference in Surat.
A) A total of 100 smart cities from across the country participated in this conference.
B) In this conference Surat and Indore were received as the best cities in India and Uttar Pradesh was awarded as the best state in India.
5. Recently, the ICAR-National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources (NBFGR) discovered a new species of shrimp.
A) This species has been named Actinimenes koyas and collected at a depth of 1.0-2.0 m from Agatti Island’s coral atoll.
B) The newly discovered species has been named ‘Koyas’ to honour Lakshadweep Island’s local community.
6. A U.S.National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) spy satellite was launched into orbit by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from the Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
A) This was the 114th booster that has been successfully recovered by SpaceX.
B) NROL-85 is the first mission of the NRO to reuse a Falcon 9 rocket booster from SpaceX.
7. Google has created a new Switch to Android app to move data from an iPhone to an Android smartphone.
A) This app allows you to swiftly and secure data transfer like movies, images, contacts, etc.
B) The new app can be downloaded from the App Store.
C) This app supports iOS12 or later on their iPhone to use the Switch to Android app.
8. On 18 April all across the globe is observed as World Heritage Day.
A) World Heritage Day is observed under the theme of ‘Heritage and Climate’.

9. The World Bank is reducing its global growth forecast to 3.2 per cent from 4.1 per cent.
A) According to David Malpass, the World Bank was responding to the added economic stresses from the war by proposing a new fifteen-month crisis financing target of 170 billion dollars.
B) He said the biggest component of the bank’s growth forecast reduction was a 4.1 percent contraction in the Europe and Central Asia region.
10. The rules of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) have been amended by the government to pave way for up to 20 percent of foreign direct investment (FDI) in the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC).
A) The central government also intends to reduce its stake in LIC through an Initial Public Offering (IPO).
B) In February, LIC filed the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) for the IPO before SEBI.
