1. The Ministry of Data Security, Information and Broadcasting (I&B) has issued guidelines to prohibit sharing of secret or top-secret documents by its officials on the Internet.
A) The guidelines for the National Information Security Policy (NISPG) have been prepared by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) based on the experience of existing security standards and frameworks.
B) The government issued new guidelines after they found that a large number of government officials use private messaging platforms such as Telegram and WhatsApp to communicate classified information.
C) Officers are required to submit their smartphones outside the meeting room while discussing confidential issues.
2. A team of researchers has recently discovered a new species of crooked lizard from Umroi Military Station in the Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya.
A) Lizard or Lizard belongs to the family of Cyrtodactylus exercitus.
B) Bent-toed geckos are scientifically known as Cyrtodactylus.
C) This genus includes about 300 described species as of 2020.
3. To celebrate 200 years of Brazil’s independence this year, the Embassy of Brazil is organizing several events to showcase the country’s contribution to the world.
A) The exhibition shows the difference between the abstract style of Burle Marx and the symmetry of the gardens of the Mughal style.
B) Andre Aranha Correa do Lago is currently the Ambassador of Brazil to India.
4. Government has announced a new doorstep crop insurance distribution policy ‘Meri Policy Mere Haath’.
A) ‘Meri Neeti Mere Haath’ door-step campaign has been launched to make all farmers well informed about their land records, policies.
B) In February 2016, PMFBY was launched with an aim to provide financial assistance to all farmers who have suffered crop loss or damage due to natural calamities.
C) More than 36 million farmer applications have been insured under this scheme till February 4, 2022, out of which claims worth more than Rs 1,07,059 crore have been paid.
5. According to the Hurun report, in the year 2021, the number of rich families in India has increased by 11 per cent.
A) The report found that since 2015, more and more of India’s wealth has gone to the top 1% of the population.
B) According to Hurun’s Luxury Consumer Survey 2021, the number of Indian millionaires using e-wallet or UPI as their preferred payment method has doubled to 36% this year.
C) The Hurun Report is world-famous for the compilation of the Rich List Report.
6. Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai announced that the Central Government High Powered Committee has accorded National Project status to “Upper Bhadra Project”.
A) This will help the state to get Rs 12,500 crore from the Centre.
B) The project was started with the objective of irrigating 2,25,515 hectares through micro-irrigation in the drought-prone districts of Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru, Davangere and Tumakuru.
C) The Upper Bhadra project was approved by the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
7. “Operation Nanhe Farishte”, Railway Protection Force (RPF) has rescued more than 1,000 children from railway stations across India in January 2022.
Other Initiatives are taken by Railways-
A) Operation Mahila Suraksha – This initiative guarantees enhanced safety for women passengers.
B) Meri Saheli Squad – to provide security to women passengers, especially those travelling alone
C) Operation Matrushakti – Under this scheme, women RPF personnel went on duty to help pregnant women who were in labour while riding the train.
D) Mission Jeevan Raksha – Under this scheme RPF personnel rescued 42 people including 20 men and 22 women in January.
E) Operation Yatri Suraksha – Under this scheme, RPF also supports the State Police in the fight against passenger crime.
8. The water taxi service between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai was inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
A) The project, which was funded under the Sagarmala programme, has a total cost of Rs. 8.37 crores.
B) The Government of India’s Sagarmala program aims to improve the country’s logistics industry.
C) The program is a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Shipping to promote development in India by harnessing the country’s 7,517 km coastline, 14,500 km network of navigable waterways.
9. IndiGo co-promoter Rakesh Gangwal on Friday resigned from the board of directors of parent company InterGlobe Aviation Ltd.
A) Indigo is the largest airline in India in terms of passengers and fleet size and is headquartered in Gurgaon.
B) The airline was established in 2006 as a private company by Rahul Bhatia and Rakesh Gangwal of InterGlobe Enterprises.
10. LIC is said to be ready to open an 8 billion dollar IPO on March 11 2022.
A) The government is rushing to complete the IPO by the end of March to meet its FY22 fiscal deficit target of 6.4% of GDP.
