1. On 22 April defence minister Rajnath Singh launched innovation for Defence Excellence (iDEX) Prime’.
A) The iDEX-Prime , aims to support a defence project that requires support beyond Rs 1.5 crore and up to Rs 10 crore.
B) Rajnath Singh also launched the DISC6 with 38 problem statements relating to Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Imaging, Sensor systems, etc.
2.Suman k Bery has been appointed Niti Aayog Vice Chairman.
A) He was the former director-general of the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER).
B) He will join Niti Aayog from May 1,2022.
3. On 22 April, Earth Day is celebrated annually all over the world.
A) Earth Day has been celebrated since 1970.
B) Earth Day celebrations have played an important role in raising awareness around environmental issues.
4. NITI Aayog and UNICEF have signed a statement of intent (Sol) on sustainable development goals (SDGs) focusing on children.
A) This SoI will be contributing to India’s commitments on the 2030 Agenda and will also be providing policy recommendations for accelerating progress towards the SDGs of leaving no child behind.
B) This SoI has been signed by Sanyukta Samaddar and Hyun Hee Ban.
5. On 21st April 2022 Niti Aayog released a draft battery swapping policy.
A) All metropolitan cities in the country having a population over 40 lakhs will be given priority for the development of a battery swapping network under the first phase.
B) The policy is aiming to support the adoption of battery-swapping, especially in battery swapping systems that are used in three-wheeler electric rickshaws and electric scooters.
6. Recently Chief of Naval Staff Hari Kumar made a three-day visit to the Maldives.
A) He also handed over hydrography equipment to strengthen the Maldivian National Defence Forces’ (MNDF) capabilities.
B) The Indian Navy facilitated the transport of hospital consumables and medicines to the Maldives during the COVID-19 pandemic.
7. Mumbai will be hosting the 1st Incredible India International Cruise Conference-2022 from 14th to 15th May 2022.
A) This event was announced by the union minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal.
B) This event will be organized by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and the Mumbai Port Authority.
C) the conference aims to discuss the development of India as a cruise hub.
8. The first-ever Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit (GAIIS) was held at Gandhinagar.
A) During the summit, more than 70 MoUs (Memorandum of Understanding) were signed between countries, prestigious research institutes, farmer’s groups and industry.
B) The investment proposals have come across major categories like FMCG, Medical Value Travel (MVT) and services, pharmaceuticals, technology & diagnostics, and farmers & agriculture.
9. Jammu & Kashmir to participate in celebrations of National Panchayati Raj Day on 24th April.
A) On this day pm to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of multiple development initiatives worth over Rs 20,000 crore.
B) He also launched Amrit Sarovar – an initiative aimed at developing and rejuvenating 75 water bodies in each district of the country.
10. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will conduct an RLV landing experiment soon.
A) The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is aiming to carry out a landing experiment, a critical component of the Reusable Launch Vehicle -Technology Demonstration (RLV-TD).
