5) 15th edition of biennial trilateral coast guard exercise “Dosti” underway in Maldives.
A) The exercise involves India, Maldives and Sri Lanka.
B) ICGS Vajra and ICGS Apoorva joined the Sri Lanka Coast Guard.
C) It is a five day exercise.
6) Fourth Submarine of Project 75 “Vela” to be commissioned by Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh.
A) Vela is named after the decommissioned submarine Vela that served the Indian Navy from 1973 to 2010.
B) Vela will be commissioned into Indian Navy’s Western Command and will be based in Mumbai.
C) P75 evolved into a 30 year plan for building submarines from the time of IK Gujral.
7) The Union Cabinet approved the continuation of the umbrella scheme “Atmosphere and Climate Research -Modelling Observing Systems and Services (ACROSS)”.
