1. Recently, Elon Musk has taken over the social media site Twitter for around USD 44 billion.

A) Musk has raised USD 25.5 billion in committed debt and has raised margin loans from dozen banks.

B) In The initial bid Musk saw Twitter implement a ‘poison pill defence’ to fight against the hostile takeover.

2. According to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) India was the world’s third-highest military spender behind the US and China.

A) In this report the top five military spenders in the world are the USA, China, India, the UK, and Russia.

B) According to the data released by SIPRI, India will spend around USD 76.6 billion in 2021, which is a 0.9 percent increase from 2020 and 33 percent from 2012.

3. The Food and hospitality fair named AAHAR-2022 is being organized at New Delhi’s Pragati Maidan.

A) This fair was organized jointly by the Agricultural and Processed Food Product Export Development Authority (APEDA) and the India Trade Promotion Organization (ITPO).

B) This is the 36th edition of the fair which began on 26th April and ends on 30th April 2022.

C) This fair will also help in marketing the country’s dynamic growing market efficiently and effectively.

4. Recently, India and the European Union have agreed to establish a Trade and Technology Council.

A) This council has been established with the aim of addressing the challenges to ensure security and trusted technology keeping in line with rapid geopolitical changes.

B) This agreement to form this council was reached at a meeting held between Ursula von der Leyen and PM Narendra Modi.

5. Recently, the Indian state of Kerala signed a Mou with the Netherlands for a project named ‘Cosmos Malabaricus’.

A) This project will be helping to further illustrate Kerala’s history in the 18th century.

B) This project will be dealing with the 18th-century Dutch documents on Malabar that are considered to be the most extensive information source about the period in Kerala between the years 1643 to 1852.

6. NITI Aayog organized a National Level Workshop on ‘Innovative Agriculture’ in Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi.

A) According to Niti Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant, “Natural farming is the need of the hour and it is important to identify scientific ways so farmers can be assured direct benefits from natural farming and higher incomes.”

B) In this workshop more than 1250 participants from NGOs, Central Ministries, State Governments, industry, farmers, academics, and delegations of national and international organizations in agriculture and allied sectors.

7. Khelo Youth India Games 2021 is scheduled to be held from 4th to 13th June 2022.

A) The Games, to take place for the U-18 age category, will be held in Shahbad, Ambala, Chandigarh, and Delhi apart from Panchkula.

B) In this Games a total of 25 sports including five indigenous games of India and around 8500 players will participate.

C) This Games, to take place for the U-18 age category held in Ambala, Chandigarh, Delhi, Panchkula, and Shahbad.

8. Recently, India created a world record by waving 78,220 tricolours simultaneously.

A) India entered the Guinness Book of World Records by waving 78,220 tricolour flags simultaneously at the “Veer Kunwar Singh Vijayotsav” program at  Duler Ground in Jagdishpur, Bhojpur, Bihar. 

B) The occasion was a tribute to the glorious victory of the then King of Jagdishpur, Veer Kunwar Singh, who is considered one of the ‘heroes’ of the freedom struggle of 1857.

9. India was the guest of honour at the Paris Book Festival 2022.

A) The two epics, Ramayana and Mahabharata, are the two pillars of Indian civilization and have always given the audience a new insight and understanding of human life.  

B) Various cultural programs were organized.

10. Recently, National Highways Logistics Management Limited and Himachal Pradesh government signed an MoU for the construction of ropeways in Himachal Pradesh under the Parvatmala Yojana.

A) This MoU facilitates a unique, scenic, seamless, and eco-friendly travel experience for tourists.

B) There are a total of 7 ropeway projects of length 57.1 km for Rs 3,232 crore to be constructed in the Himachal Pradesh.
