1.Recently P V Sindhu won the Swiss Open 2022 tournament.

A) Swiss open tournament is an annual badminton tournament held in Switzerland.

B) P V Sindhu is an Indian badminton player,she entered the international circuit at a young age of 14.

2.Bharat Bhagya Vidhata festival started with zeal at Red Fort delhi.

A) This is a ten days festival which helps improve the livelihoods of artisans and artists.

B) The festival started from 25th March and will continue till 3rd April, 2022 at the iconic 17th century monument, Red Fort in Delhi.

C) The festival is helping improve the livelihoods of artisans across the country in a culturally and economically sustainable manner by showcasing a variety of authentic arts, crafts and textiles from across the nation.

3.Under the ‘Udaan’ scheme of Rajasthan, the government  provides the rural girls of the state with scholarship schemes.

A) This scheme was launched in collaboration with ‘IPE Global’.

B) Under this scheme ‘Human-Centred Design’ (HCD) approach was taken up to identify the various ways to reach out to adolescents effectively.

4.The United States and the European Union have announced that they have an “in principle” agreement in place to create a new framework for the purpose of cross-border data transfers.

A) A smooth flow of data between the EU and the US will help in facilitating economic relationships amounting to USD 7.1 trillion.

B) This newly announced framework highlights the commitment towards data protection, privacy, and its related rules.

5.The Conference of Parties (COP-4) Minamata Convention on Mercury, took place in Bali, Indonesia from 21st to 25th March 2022.

A) COP-4 Minamata Convention on Mercury, the participating parties have agreed to expand the mercury-added products list that has been planned to be phased out.

B) This convention aims to protect the environment and human health from the release of mercury, and anthropogenic emissions.

C) The ‘Bali Declaration on Combating Global Illegal Trade of Mercury’ was also presented by the host nation.

6. Dhaka has been ranked as the noisiest city in the world according to the UNEP Annual Frontier Report 2022.

A) In this report a total of 61 cities which include 13 from South Asia,11 from South East Asia,the Pacific and East Asia,6 from North America,7 from Africa,4 from Latin America and 10 from Europe.

B) Irbid, Jordan has been ranked as the world’s quietest city.

C) This report has also highlighted noise pollution and its long-term mental and physical health impacts.

7.Recently MoS Ministry of Earth Science,has said that a rapid increase in ocean warning has been experienced by the tropical Indian Ocean.

A) It has been observed that there was around a 1-degree Celsius (°C) average rise in sea surface temperature over the period of 1951 to 2015, which is equivalent to 0.15°C per decade.

B) In the North Bay of Bengal region, it was observed that there was a rise of 0.5 events per decade in heatwave events.

8. Recently India successfully test-fired two Army-version Medium Range Surface-to-Air Missiles (MRSAMs) from Chandipur in Odisha.

A) The flight tests were carried out as part of live-firing trials against high-speed aerial targets.

B) This MRSAM version is developed jointly by the DRDO and the Israel Aerospace Industries(IAI).

9.According to the newly released National Tuberculosis Prevalence Survey 2019-2021, the highest incidents of pulmonary tuberculosis cases across the country were recorded in Delhi with the lowest being in Kerala.

A) This survey found that 64 percent of the country’s TB symptomatic population was unable to seek healthcare services between the period 2019 to 2021.

B)This survey has also found that due to COVID-19 the community level chest X-ray abnormality has been impacted in general and this would have impacted the prevalence of TB.

10.The milestone of having 50,000 open defecation-free (ODF) Plus villages has been crossed by the country.

A) The top-performing states under this programme are Telangana which has 13,960 ODF Plus villages. It is followed by Tamil Nadu and Madhya Pradesh.

B) The ODF Plus villages programme has resulted in a competitive and healthy spirit that has resulted in the participation of the people towards the accelerated implementation of ‘sampoorn swachhata’.
