1. North Kamrup Forest Division (NKF Division) has initiated an exclusive leopard counting census in Assam’s non-forest and Forest areas.
A) On the occasion of World Tiger Day, the Union Environment Ministry released “Status of Leopards, Co-predators and Megaherbivores-2018”.
B) Panthera Pardus is the Scientific Name of the Leopard.
C) Madhya Pradesh is the first state in India where 3,41 leopards have been estimated and followed by Karnataka (1,783) and Maharashtra (1,690).
2. Rajya Sabha debates the use of private Bills to amend the Preamble to Constitution.
A) Private member bill sought to amend the Preamble – replacing “socialist” with “equitable”.
B) Socialist, Secular and Integrity have added the 42nd Constitutional Amendment Act, 1976.
C) Under Article 368 of the Constitution, the preamble can be amended but the basic structure of the preamble can not be amended.
3. CSTEP studies say PM10 emissions could see a 15% rise by 2024.

5. Pakistan signed a new agreement with China to start the second phase of the USD 60 billion China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
A) CPEC infrastructure project started in 2013 with the original value at USD 47 billion. Its value has increased to worth USD 62 billion in 2020.
B) It is a 3,000-km long route of infrastructure projects, to connect China’s northwest Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region to Gwadar Port in the western province of Balochistan in Pakistan.
C) India is protesting against CPEC because it is being laid through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
6. The NASA-funded Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) is now capable of searching the entire dark sky every 24 hours.
