1. Using Low-Frequency Array (LOFAR) radio, astronomers at Durham University mapped more than a quarter of the northern sky.
A) This map provides an incredibly detailed radio image of over 4.4 million objects, as well as a very dynamic picture of our universe.
B) This data includes about four million objects discovered at radio wavelengths and about one million objects that have never been observed with a telescope before.
C) Most of these mapped objects are galaxies with massive black holes or rapidly growing young stars that are billions of light-years away.
2. Janaushadhi Diwas week will be celebrated from 1st to 7th March 2022.
A) The theme of 4th Janaushadhi Day is ‘Jan Aushadhi – People’s Useful’.
B) The day aims to raise awareness about the benefits of using generic medicines and the Jan Aushadhi Project.

4. International Women’s Day Week is being celebrated from 1st March as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
A) The event aims to use it as an opportunity to celebrate progress towards gender equality and women’s empowerment.
B) The program is being organized in partnership with the Bureau of Police Research and Development to raise awareness about the safety and security of women.
5. An International Criminal Court prosecutor has launched an investigation on the situation in Ukraine following the Russian invasion.
A) According to the United Nation, a war crime is a serious breach of international law committed against civilians or enemy combatants during an international or domestic armed conflict.
B) The war crimes were clarified in the four 1949 Geneva Conventions.
C) Article 147 of the Fourth Geneva Convention defines war crimes as wilful killing, torture treatments.
6. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has put at risk not just physical infrastructure and human lives but also priceless works of art, monuments and cultural artefacts.

7. The Ministry of Tourism instituted the Swadesh Darshan Awards in various categories to acknowledge the efforts made by the State Governments, Union Territory Administrations and various implementing agencies.

8. The Convention on Cluster Weapons (CCM) is an international treaty that prohibits all use, transfer, production and storage of cluster bombs.
A) The convention was adopted in Dublin on 30 May 2008.
B) It is an explosive weapon that releases small sub-munitions over a large area.
C) Since cluster munitions are non-precision weapons and they release many small bombs over a large area which can kill civilians indiscriminately.
9. The Government of Tamil Nadu has started the work of setting up India’s first Dugong Conservation Reserve in the Palk Bay region.
A) Dugong is protected under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972.
B) Dugong is a mermaid species found along the Indian coast. Dugongs are related to manatees and appear plump, similar to them, but they have a tail that looks like a swarm of dolphins.
