1) The Home Minister urges for maximum publicity of weather forecasting apps like “Umang”, “Rain Alarm” and “Damini”.

A) Damini app monitors lightning occurrences all over India and alerts the user of lightning near them by GPS notification.

B) It triggers warning three hours in advance which can help reduce losses to life and property.

C) It is developed by Indian Institute of Tropical (IITM- Pune) and ESSO under the Ministry of Earth Sciences.

2) Indian Army conducts successful trial runs of military trains loaded with vehicles and equipment on the Dedicated Freight Corridor(DFC).

A) It ferried heavy equipment from New Rewari Station in Haryana to New Phulera in Rajasthan.

B) DFCC India is constructing the Western DFC and Eastern DFC.

C) The EDFC starting from Ludhiana will pass through states of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand to terminate at Dankuni, West Bengal.

3) Geographical Indication Certified Jalgaon Banana consignment has been exported to Dubai from Tandalwadi Village.

A) Jalgaon Banana got GI certification in 2016.

4) MoTA launches Tribal Livelihoods initiative “Sankalp Se Siddhi- Mission Van Dhan”.

A) 50,000 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras are to be established under the mission.

B) TRIFED now plans to expand its operations through convergence of various schemes of different Ministries and Departments.

5) Defence Minister addresses ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting Plus (ADMM+).

A) ADMM+ is a forum comprising 10 ASEAN member countries and 8 dialogue partner nations.

B) 15th ADMM+ is being hosted by Brunei and it aims to strengthen security and defence cooperation for peace, stability and development in the region.

C) The inaugural ADMM+ was convened in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2010.

6) World Turtle day observed on 16 June.

A) It is observed to educate people on the need to conserve the World’s Sea Turtles and their Habitats.

B) Turtles are the World’s Oldest reptile groups in existence.

7) Government of India signs a $484 million loan with Asian Development Bank (ADB) to develop road networks in Tamil Nadu Industrial Corridor.

A) It will improve transport connectivity and facilitate industrial development in Chennai-Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC) in Tamil Nadu.

B) CKIC is part of India’s east Coast economic corridor.

8) Government of India approves Nutrient based Subsidy for Phosphatic and Potassic fertilisers.

A) Govt will spend additional 14000 crore on increase subsidy support for DAP fertiliser

B) Subsidy is released to fertiliser companies as per NBS rates so that they can make available fertilisers to farmers at affordable price.
