1) Indian Badminton player K Srinath becomes first Indian to win a silver medal at BWF World Championships.

A) Srinath defeated Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew by 21-15, 22-20.

B) Srinath was ranked 1st at BWF ranking in 2018.

C) 2021 BWF championship is officially known as Total Energies BWF Championships 2021.

2) Good Governance Week celebrated by DARPG, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.

A) It is being celebrated as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration.

B) Theme: Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur.

C) More than 700 district collectors will be participating in Prashasan Gaon ki Aur and campaigns will be held in all districts, states and Union Territories of India.

3) BPNI in collaboration with Association of Healthcare Providers of India (AHPI) launched an accreditation programme to get Hospitals “Breastfeeding-friendly” tag.

A) Programme is called Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI).

B) Only private hospitals based on the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s MAA programme can avail the initiative.

C) Chennai’s Bloom Healthcare has become the first hospital to be recognised under the programme.

4) Indian Navy conducts first Sea sortie of second indigenous stealth destroyer Mormugao.

A) It is planned to be commissioned by mid 2022.

B) It is being built at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd as part of 15B destroyers.

C) First vessel of the class, INS Visakhapatnam was commissioned on 21 November 2021.

5) Nadi Utsav celebrations 2021 held across the country.

A) River festival has been formally launched by flagging in Ganga Mashal by Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh.

B) The celebrations are being held under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

C) NADI utsav are jointly organised by National Mission for Clean Ganga, Ministry of Jal Shakti and Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Tourism.

6) Goa Liberation Day being observed across the country on December 19.

A) Goa was a Portuguese colony for 451 years.

B) Goa was taken over from Maratha rule in 1641 by the Portuguese and began the minor Bicholim conflict.

C) Operation Vijay was adopted by the Government of India to free Portuguese colonies in India.

7) Centre to table Mediation Bill 2021 in Rajya Sabha.

A) Bill intends to institutionalise the process of mediation by strengthening Alternative Dispute Resolution.

B) Bill also provides for establishment of the Mediation Council of India and for community mediation.

C) Successful outcome of mediation in form of Mediation settlement agreement has been made enforceable by law.
