1. India’s startup ecosystem has created as many as 14 unicorns in the first three months of 2022.
A) According to a PwC India report, the creation of 14 more unicorns takes the overall tally of a startup with over 1 billion-dollar valuation in the country to 84.
B) In this quarter the fund inflows in the domestic startup’s ecosystem have grossed over 10 billion dollars in fresh funding.
2. Recently, the Government made an MoU between the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi (DDCD) and EPIC.
A) This MoU was signed to develop and implement a plan to develop Electronics City in Delhi.
B) The Electronics City initiative will help to boost the design, sell, manufacture, and service of electronics to feed domestic as well as global demand.
3. Recently, NITI Aayog launched the State Energy and Climate Index (SECI).
A) This is the first of its kind index that aims to track the efforts made in the climate and energy sector by the states and UTs of India.
B) This index has also helped to move toward the agenda of the accessible, affordable, clean, and efficient energy transition at the State level.
4. On 12th April 2022 Helina, the Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) was tested in northern mountain regions.
A) The test was conducted as part of the ongoing user validation trials of this missile’s third-generation ‘fire-and-forget’ class missile.
B) This missile has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO).
C) The maximum range of this missile is 7 kilometres.
5. On 14th April 2022, the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.
A) The tickets have been priced at Rs 100 if it is bought online, and Rs 110 if bought in the offline mode.
B) The sangrahalaya is being built adjacent to the Nehru Memorial Museum Library in Teen Murti Bhavan on a 10,000-square metre piece of land.
C) The contribution of India’s prime ministers will be showcased in the Pradhanmantri Sangrahalaya.
6. Recently, Hyderabad and Mumbai were jointly recognized as the ‘2021 Tree City of the World.
A) The programme was started by the UN-FAO and Arbor Day Foundation, an American non-profit organisation.
B) The aim of starting this programme was to recognise towns and cities across the world that are committed to ensuring that their trees and urban forests are sustainably managed, properly maintained, and duly celebrated.
7. Government approves a total of 61 projects under the PLI plan for textiles.
A) The project turnover from the approved projects is Rs 1.84 lakh crore over five years.
B) The government approved the PLI Scheme for textile and provided the PLI scheme for textile products to enhance manufacturing capabilities and exports from the country of select manmade fibre products.
8. Recently, R Praggnanandhaa won the prestigious Reykjavik Open chess tournament with 7.5 points from nine rounds.
A) He defeated compatriot GM D Gukesh in the final round to emerge a sole winner.
B) The Kvika Reykjavik Open is a 9-round Swiss tournament held from 6-12 April 2022 in Reykjavik.Iceland.
9. Various procedures under the Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG) scheme have been relaxed by the commerce ministry so as to facilitate the ease of doing business and reduce compliance requirements.
A) Under this scheme, the capital goods imports are allowed duty-free, subject to export laws.
B) The EPCG scheme’s objective is to facilitate the import of capital goods so as to produce quality goods and services and enhance the manufacturing competitiveness of the country.
10. The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) flagship Regional Connectivity Scheme UDAN (UdeDeshkaAamNagrik) has been selected for Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2020 under the category ‘Innovation (General) – Central’.
A) Government of India has initiated this award to acknowledge, recognize and reward extraordinary and innovative work done by Districts and Organisations of State/Government.
B) This scheme emphasises Good Governance, Qualitative achievements, and last-mile connectivity rather than only on achievement of quantitative targets.
