1. The Nepal government declared a two-day holiday to curtail fuel consumption.
A) The Central Bank of Nepal and Nepal Oil Corporation advised the government to give two days of government holiday.
B) The Russia-Ukraine war has resulted in a major spike in global oil prices as Russian oil is under sanction.
2. Recently a Boston-based startup has come up with a new type of battery made from plastic.
A) This battery could make energy storage on the grid cheaper and more durable, offering maximisation of renewable energy.
B) This battery pack is two to five times larger than a lithium-ion battery.
C) This plastic battery could be considered an alternative to lithium-ion batteries especially to store electricity from solar and wind sources.
3. Recently, the GST Council has considered a proposal to do away with the 5 percent slab by moving some goods of mass consumption to 3 percent and the remaining to 8 percent categories.
A) Every 1 percentage point increase in the 5 per cent slab, which mainly includes packaged food items, would roughly yield additional revenue of Rs 50,000 crore annually.
B) The Council had last year set up a panel of state ministers, headed by Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai, to suggest a way to augment revenue by nationalising tax rates and correcting anomalies in the tax structure.
4. Wholesale Price Index (WPI) based inflation rate for March stood at 14.55 percent.
A) WPI inflation last year march 2021 was 7.89 percent.
B) The high rate of inflation in March 2022 is primarily due to the rise in the price of crude petroleum and natural gas, basic metal, mineral oils, etc caused by the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

7. The government issues oil bonds to compensate the oil marketing companies (OMCs).

B) The oil bonds are promissory notes for the government deferred payment of subsidies owed to oil marketing companies.
8. Recently, the Ministry of Roads, Transport and Highways (MoRTH) developed the e-Detailed Accident Report(‘e-DAR’).

10. Recently, The United State Food and Drug Administration has been granted the COVID-19 test authorised device named the ‘InspectlR Covid-19 Breathalyzer’.
A) This device has been developed by the company named InspectIR Systems.
B) This device is around the size of carry-on luggage and it can detect, accurately within minutes, coronavirus on the breath of an individual.
C) This device can be analysed around 160 samples per day, it can be a game-changer for large-scale screening of COVID-19.
