1. Natural gas hydrate deposits discovered in Bangladesh.

A) Natural gas hydrate deposits of 0.11 to 0.73 trillion cubic feet discovered in an exclusive economic zone area.

B) The technology of production of methane gas from the hydrates is completely different from the extraction of oil and natural gas which flow naturally through the pores of the reservoirs to the well.

C) Many countries in the world are trying to find out economically viable technology to extract gas from the hydrates.

2. Ministry of Ayush to organise Surya Namaskar Demonstration Program on Makar Sankranti.

A) In this program 75 lakh people perform Surya Namaskar on Makar Sankranti.

3. Union Minister flags off first Jan Shatabdi Express trains between Manipur and Tripura.

A) The Travel time is reduced by half as the journey time will be around 6 hours covering a distance of 300 km while by road it takes around 12 hours.

B) This train connects some historic and important towns like Silchar, Badarpur, New Karimganj, Dharmanagar and Ambassa.

C) One more special train also inaugurates simultaneously from Agartala and Jiribham railway station.

4. INDIA-US signed a framework agreement for implementing the 2 vs 2 agrimarket access issue.

A) Department of agriculture and farmers welfare (India) and US Department of Agriculture have signed a framework agreement on 2 vs 2 Agrimarket access issue.

B) This 2 vs 2 access issue involves inspection and oversight transfer of mango and pomegranate and access of India’s pomegranate aril market and market access of US cheries and US alfalfa hay.

C) Department of Animal husbandry and Dairying also conveyed its readiness to provide market access for U.S pork and requested the U.S side provide final sanitary certificate.

5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi greets Indian Diaspora on Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas on 9 January, 2022.

A) Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas celebrated once in every two years.

B) The objective of this Diwas is to strengthen the engagement of the overseas Indian community with the government of India.

C) The names of the Pravasi Bhartiya samman awardees will also be announced during this session.

6. The Delhi and Mumbai Police takes cognisance of multiple complaints that the photograph of muslim women had been posted on “Bulli Bai” mobile app for auction. 

A) The police registered a case on Cyber crime and invoked section 67 of the information technology.

B) The Police also invoked Section 153A, 153B, 295A, 500 and 354D of IPC.

C) Section 67 laying down the provision of punishment for transmitting obscene material in electronic form.

7. Researchers at the National Centre of Biological Science, Bengaluru throws light on what stimulates these synapses to form.

A) Neurons or nerve cells, in the brain, connected by means of Junction are known as Synapses through which they transmit signals.

8. More than Fourteen thousand tons of medical liquid oxygen transported by Indian Railway.

A) Eight hundred fifty eight special freight trains run by Northern Railway to supply Liquid Medical Oxygen to the hospital and covid care centre in the states of Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana,Uttarakhand and Delhi.

B) Oxygen is important for treatment for Covid-19.

9. On 26th December, “Veer Bal Diwas” to mark martyrdom of Sahibzada Zorawar singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji, announced by Prime Minister.

A) Veer Bal Diwas will be on the same day Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Shahibzada Fateh Singh Ji attained martyrdom after being sealed alive in a wall.

B) The Bravery and ideals of Mata Guruji, Sri guru Gobind Singh Ji and 4 sahibzadas give strength to millions of people.

C) Prime Minister announced that starting this year, 26th december shall be observed as Veer Bal Diwas.
