1) Today in 1897 Revolutionary Freedom Fighter Ram Prasad Bismil was born at Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
Bismil was one of the chief founders of Hindustan Republic Association. Bismil is also most remembered for the Kakori Case.
2) Today in 2010 The 19th World Cup Football tournament opened in the Host Country of Africa.
It became the first time that the event was played on the African continent. Spain won the World Cup.
3) Today in 1983 Ghanshyam Das Birla, Indian Businessman, died in London.
He was the founding president of Harijan Sevak Sangh founded by Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi in 1932. He also established Hindustan Motors.
