1) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announces Uttar Pradesh Population Policy 2021-30.

A) Policy aims at decreasing the total fertility rate from 2.7 to 2.1 by 2026 and 1.7 by 2030.

B) State would attempt to maintain a balance of population  among various communities.

C) Policy aims to increase male methods of contraception use from 10.8% to 15.1% by 2026 and 16.4% by 2030.

4) Virgin Group Founder Richard Branson becomes first billionaire to travel to space.

A) He and 5 others undertook a brief trip to the edge of Space on a VSS Unity spaceship from New Mexico.

B) They undertook a suborbital flight i.e. reaching an altitude of 85 km from Earth and returning.

C) Such a trip allows space travellers to experience a few minutes of Weightlessness.

5) India decides to allow ethanol based flex engines.

A) It will power vehicles using Local Farm Produce and not fossil fuels.

B) Switching to locally produced ethanol will be helpful for a country like India which relies majorly on crude oil imports for powering the transport sector.

6) Minister of Road Transport and Highways Inaugurate country’s first Private LNG Facility plant at Nagpur.

A) LNG is a natural gas in its liquid form.

B) Natural gas is cooled below its boiling point during the process of Liquefaction.

C) Majority of the World’s LNG supply comes from countries with large natural gas reserves.

7) 21st session of India-Italy Joint Commission for Economic Cooperation (JCEC) held.

A) The session was co-chaired by Piyush Goyal and Mr Luigi Di Maio.

B) Both the ministers discussed bilateral market access issues and non tariff barriers in order to facilitate trade and investment.

C) Bilateral trade between India and Italy increased by 12 times in 2 decades.
