1. The Minister of Youth Affair and Sports launched the nationwide program of Fit India Freedom Run 2.0.

A)  It is being done to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.

B) The program has been launched at 75 iconic locations.

C) Aim is to encourage people to take up fitness activities like running and sports. 

2. APEDA in collaboration with HPMC exports 5 varieties of Apples to Bahrain.

A) It is being done to promote agricultural and processed food product exports to newer destinations.

B) These apples were sourced from farmers of Himachal Pradesh.

C) First consignment was exported by APEDA registered DM enterprises.

3. International Youth Day is observed on August 12th.

4. Delhi government launches an ambitious, faceless transport initiative by locking down four regional transport offices ( RTO).

A) “Faceless services” scheme seeks to eliminate any scope of corruption by ending the need for people to visit RTOs.

B) Aadhaar based verification will be relied upon in dispensing the services online.

5. Indonesian Army scraps long standing practice of virginity test for women cadets.

A) Virginity testing can lead to harmful mental as well as physical consequences.

B) Use of virginity tests by Indonesian security forces was first exposed by Human Rights watch in 2014.  

C) There is no known examination that can prove a person’s history of vaginal intercourse.

6. All India elephant and tiger population estimation exercise to be done on convergence for the first time in 2022.

A) The Ministry of Environment released population estimation protocol to be adopted.

B) The protocol was released on occasion of World Elephant Day.

7. India crossed the milestone of 100 GW in total installed renewable energy capacity.

A) India stands fourth position in the world in  terms of installed RE capacity.

B) If large hydro is included, the installed RE capacity increases to 146 GW.

C) India has also enhanced its ambition to install 450 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
