1) India at SCO meeting in Deshpande calls on members to act against terrorism and terror financing.

A) Meeting was attended by representatives from countries having observer status with SCO and SCO members.

B) Meeting was dominated by the deteriorating security situation in Afghanistan.

C) SCO charter was signed in June 2002 that formally established the organisation.

2) Government approves extension of Rebate of State and Central Taxes and Levies (RoSCTL) till 2024.

A) Through this scheme govt exporters will continue to get rebate on central and state taxes on their outward shipments.

B) Move is aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the labour intensive textiles sector.

C) It will help boost exports and job creation.

3) The Ministry of Coal organised a day-long workshop on “Way ahead for Jharia and Raniganj Master Plan” at Central Coalfields limited.

A) Workshop aims at expediting rehabilitation of affected families to safer locations in Jharia and Raniganj.

B) BCCL and ECCL, both subsidiaries of Coal India, have active mines in Jharia and Raniganj.

4) Union Cabinet approves continuation of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) as Centrally Sponsored Scheme till March 2026.

A) The mission was launched in September 2014.

B) Its objective is to provide cost effective AYUSH service.

5) The Union Cabinet approves MoU between the Ministry of Steel and Ministry of Energy of Russia on cooperation regarding coking Coal.

A) Coking Coal is used for Steel making.

B) MoU shall benefit the entire steel sector by reducing their input cost.

C) MoU will provide an institutional mechanism for cooperation in the coking coal sector between India and Russia.

6) Minister of Commerce, Consumer Affairs and Food and Textiles Piyush Goyal to replace Thawar Chand Gehlot as Leader of House in Rajya Sabha.

A) Replacement signals the induction of younger leaders for a role which is usually handled by veterans.

B) Thawar Chand Gehlot has been appointed as Governor of Karnataka.

C) Leader of the House is “Leader and Parliamentary Chairperson” of the majority party in Rajya Sabha.

7) Union Cabinet approves MoU between MoHFW (India) and Ministry of Health Denmark.

A) It will encourage cooperation between both ministries by joint initiatives and technology development in the health sector.

B) MoU will facilitate improving public health status of people in both countries.

C) Foundation for a friendly relationship between India and Denmark was laid by Indian Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru.
