1) US senate passes law to boost American Production and Processing of Rare earths.

A) US imported 80% of its rare earth metals from China in 2019.

B) Cerium(AN58) is the most abundant rare earth metal.

C) Rare earth elements are called rare because their extraction is difficult

2) India signs off on a joint statement by G7 and guest countries on “Open Societies”.

A) Open Societies statement was adopted at the end of an G7 outreach session titled “Building Back Together-Open Societies and Economies”.

B) The joint statement was signed by G7 countries and India,South Korea,Australia and South Africa.

C) PM Boris Johnson called them “Democracies 11”.

3) Defence Minister approves Budgetary support of 498 crore to Innovations for Defence Excellence(iDEX)-Defence Innovation Organisation.

A) iDEX was launched by the Government of India in 2018.

B) iDEX will be funded and managed by “Defence Innovation Organisation(DIO)”.

C) It is aimed at promoting innovation and indigenisation in the aerospace and defence sector at the startup level.

4) India registered tremendous growth in agriculture exports during Financial Year 21 according to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

A) Exports of Agriculture and allied products registered an increase of 17.34%.

5) 15 metre tall tree “Pyrostria Laljii” belonging to the genus of coffee family discovered from Andaman Islands.

A) It was first reported in Wandoor Forest in South Andaman.

B) The new species is also the first record of the genus Pyrostria in India.

C) It has been assessed as Critically Endangered based on the IUCN red list.

6) India 14th most charitable country across the world as per World Giving Index 2021.

A) Report states Covid 19 pandemic has further increased the giving trends worldwide.

B) Report is released by Charities Aid Foundation(CAF).

C) World Giving Index is a global survey conducted since 2009.

7) IMD and ICMR partner with Malaria No More (NGO) to set up a Committee “India Interagency Expert Committee on Malaria and Climate” (IEC).

A) It will explore and advance climate based solutions to eliminate Malaria in India.

B) IEC is part of a Global initiative called “Forecasting Healthy Futures” .

C) ICMR will provide scientific information to develop robust and scalable use cases to combat vector borne diseases.

8) 31st meeting of NATO held on June 14 in Brussels, Belgium.

A) NATO Summit 2021 is being dubbed as Brussels summit of NATO.

B) Topics of discussion include Geostrategic  environment, emerging technologies, Collective defence, Climate Change and Security

C) Originally NATO had 12 members which has been increased to 30 now.
