1) India ranked 46th by WIPO in the Global Innovation Index 2021 rankings.

A) India has been on a rising trajectory over the past several years from rank of 81 in 2015 to 46 in 2021.

B) The GII report is published by WIPO in partnership with the Portulans institute.

C) Report also stated that selected Middle income economies are changing the innovation landscape.

2) The Minister of Health and Family Welfare released FSSAIs 3rd State Food Safety Index (SFSI).

A) It measures the performance of States across five parameters of food safety.

B) Gujarat was the top ranking state this year.

C) 19 Mobile Food Testing Vans to supplement the food safety ecosystem across the country.

3) NCL, Singrauli based Coal India Arm all set to start 75 “Fulwari Centres” in Singrauli district.

A) INS Shivalik and INS Kadmatt arrived at Jakarta.

B) Exercise aims to strengthen bilateral relationship, enhance mutual understanding and interoperability in maritime operations between two navies.

C) Exercise Samudra Shakti was conceived in 2018 as Bilateral exercise under India’s Act East Policy.

5) DFPD for the first time issued Uniform specifications for Fortified Rice Kernels (FRK) for grade A and Common rice.

A) Department issued uniform specifications of food grains for Central pool procurement for the ensuing Kharif Marketing Season 2020-21.

B) All States/UT and FCI have been advised about procurement to be done strictly with uniform specifications.

C) These Specifications as per standard practice have been issued in respect of paddy, Rice and other Coarse Grains.

6) Botanical Survey of India in its new publication Plant Discoveries 2020 added 267 new taxa/species to the country’s flora.

A) 267 new discoveries include 119 angiosperms, 3 pteridophytes, 5 bryophytes, 44 lichens, 57 fungi, 21 algae and 18 microbes.

B) West Coast contributed 10% while East Coast contributed 9% in total discoveries.

7) Team of NIMAS, Arunachal Pradesh completed mountaineering expedition to Mount Kun.

A) The expedition was flagged off by the Defence Minister on September 20.

B) Kun Peak is located north of Nun peak and is separated from it by a snowy plateau.

C) Nun is one of the highest peaks in part of the Himalayan Range lying on the Indian side of LOC in Ladakh.
