1) International eco-label “Blue Flag” accords Blue Flag Certification for 2 new beaches Kovalam in Tamil Nadu and Eden in Pondicherry beaches.

A) A beach is awarded Blue Flag Certification for all round high Quality.

B) The Ministry of Environment embarked upon the highly acclaimed and flagship program Beach Environment and Aesthetics Management Services (BEAMS).

C) Objective of the BEAMS program is to abate pollution in coastal waters, promote sustainable development of beach facilities.

2) ISRO Chairman K. Kasturiranjan as head of the 12 member committee responsible for developing the new National Curriculum Framework (NCF).

6) The International Day of Peace observed by the UN on September 21.

A) The day is also called World Peace Day.

B) Day is celebrated across the World in order to strengthen the ideals of peace by observing 24 hours of non violence and ceasefire.

C) Theme: Recovering Better for an equitable and sustainable world.

7) Government of India amends 50 year old rule and allows IAS and IPS officers to retain gifts from Foreign Dignitaries.

A) They are required to make a report to the government if the value of such gifts is more than 25,000.

B) Gift consists of free transport, Free lodging, free boarding etc.

C) Rule is applicable to IAS, IPS and IFS.
