1) President to confer National Service Scheme (NSS) Awards for the year 2019-20.

A) It will be given to 42 awardees in 3 different categories like University +2 councils, NSS Units and Volunteers.

B) NSS is a central sector scheme launched in 1969.

C) Primary objective is developing personality and character of student youth through voluntary community service.

2) Defence Ministry places order with Heavy Vehicles Factory for supply of 118 indigenous Arjun MK -1A battle tanks (MBT).

A) The delivery will be done at the cost of 7523 crores.

B) MBT Arjun MK-1A was designed and developed by Combat Vehicles Research and Development Establishment.

C) PM Modi formally handed over MK-1A to Army Chief General Manoj Narvane in Chennai.

3) Empowered Task Force made for ensuring Holistic Rejuvenation of Ganga River and its Basin.

A) Minister of Jal Shakti chaired the meeting including several central ministries, departments and state departments.

B) Ministry of Tourism working on developing tourist circuits along Ganga in UP, Uttarakhand and Bihar.

C) Uttarakhand has started 20 big and 410 small outlets to promote organic products along Char Dham Yatra.

4) The Minister of Tourism laid the foundation stone for “Development of Parshuram Kund” in Lohit district, Arunachal Pradesh.

A) The project was approved under the PRASHAD Scheme by the Ministry of Tourism with a cost of 37.88 crores.

5) Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) World giving Index 2021 published recently.

A) India ranking 14th founda place among top 20 generous countries.

B) CAF report notes that India is the fastest climber on the Index.

C) The most generous country across the World is Indonesia.

6) MoU on Food Security signed between UNWFP and ICRISAT.

A) It was signed on programmes and research in order to improve food, nutrition security and livelihoods across India.

B) It was signed between WFP India representative Bishow Parajauli and Director General of ICRISAT Dr Jacqueline Hughes.

7) UNICEF releases a report titled “Fed to Fail? The Crisis of Children’s Diets in Early Life”.

A) Report states children under 2 are not getting food or nutrients they need to thrive and grow well.

B) This is leading to Irreversible developmental harm.

C) Poor nutritional intake in the first two years can harm the rapidly growing bodies and brains of Children.
