1. Indian Institute of Technology Madras Research Park in collaboration with the National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) hosted the “Oceans 2022 Conference”.
A) The Ocean Conference is a bi-annual event of global marine researchers.
B) It was organized in India for the first time.
C) Inspiration-Innovation-Sustainable was the theme of this year’s “Ocean 2022” conference.

2. Chandrayaan-2 Large Area Soft X-ray Spectrometer (CLASS)’ The payload of Chandrayaan-2 orbiter recently detected solar proton events.

A) The class payload also recorded a coronal mass ejection (CME).
B) Coronal mass ejection is a powerful stream of ionized material and magnetic fields, reaching Earth a few days later. This gave rise to geomagnetic storms and illuminated the polar sky with auroras.
C) The class payload of Chandrayaan-2 uses key elements such as aluminium, magnesium, calcium, silicon to calibrate the X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectra of the Moon.


3. The World Economic Forum (WEF) and the National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to design the ‘Sustainable Cities India’ programme.

A) This partnership between WEF and NIUA assumes significance in light of India’s commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070 at the COP26 summit in Glasgow.
B) WEF is an international non-governmental and lobbying organization. It is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.

4. Center for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), Government of India’s premier Telecom R&D Center bagged three awards at the 12th Annual Aegis Graham Bell Awards.

A) C-DOT Dialogue provides secure messaging, voice and video calls, video conferencing securely. It is specially designed to meet various security concerns with a set of unique features to enhance its usefulness for official communication/meetings.
B) C-DOT Quarantine Alert System (CQAS) has won the first prize in the category of “Preventive Measures to combat COVID 19”.

5. Union Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Giriraj Singh launched the Lokpal App for MGNREGA.

A) This app is a step towards e-governance, and it will help in accountability and transparency.
B) The Ministry of Rural Development has developed this app with the objective of smooth classification and reporting of complaints by the Ombudsman appointed based on complaints received from various sources i.e. digital, physical, mass media, etc.

6. Delhi Government is all set to project Delhi as an international film production destination by approving the “Delhi Film Policy 2022”.

A) Delhi Film Policy 2022 approved to enable inclusive growth through tourism in the Union Territory.
B) The Delhi government will also give a subsidy of up to Rs 3 crore for films made in Delhi. 

7. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a crucial meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) to discuss the crisis led by Russia’s military operations in Ukraine.

A) Modi also spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on this issue.
B) The meeting was held on a day when global Brent crude rose over 8% and crossed USD 105 per barrel in intra-day trade.
C) Joe Biden has announced new sanctions against Russia after invading Ukraine.

8. The demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status to the majority Meitei community became a major election issue in Manipur.

A) Meiteis dominate two-thirds of the 60 constituencies in the Imphal Valley.
B) Meiteis controlled areas as far as Chindwin in Myanmar and the Surma Valley in Bangladesh.
C) They are confined to an 8 per cent area of ​​Manipur and tribal candidates are infiltrating into Imphal by contesting elections. 

9. Grandmaster B Adhiban heads a star-studded field in the 58th Senior National Chess Championship that began on February 25, 2022.

A) This is the first time that 23 GMs and 30 IMs are participating in the National Championship.
B) The tournament consists of a total of 184 players and will be played under the Swiss system with rounds within 90 minutes, increasing by 30 seconds from the first move.
C) Cash prizes of Rs 30 lakh have been earmarked for the championship. 

10. Dhar for the Indian Knowledge System, organized by the Ministry of Culture, began in New Delhi.

A) Dhara – An ode to India’s knowledge system, a series of events driven by lecture demonstrations, celebrating India’s contribution in diverse fields.
