1. The 22nd India-Russia summit is to be held in Russia in the year 2022.

A) First 2+2 Ministerial Dialogue between Russian and Indian Ministers- The focus of the dialogue was on political and defense issues of mutual interest and is expected to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.

B) Bilateral trade grew by about 38% in the first half of 2021 as compared to the same period in 2020.

C) India and Russia also signed an agreement for joint production of assault rifles AK-203.

2. India and Russia signed 28 MoUs across a wide range of trade, energy, culture, education, etc. 

A) India also receives S-400 missiles from Russia.

B) India and Russia signed an agreement at the Summit to deepen collaboration in the space sector including in the human space flight programme and for cooperation in the building as well operation of launched vehicles.

C) The agreement also intends to enhance cooperation between- Russian State Space Cooperation-ROSCOSMOS’ and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

3. Asian Development Bank (ADB) Approved Rs 2653.05 crore policy-based loan to improve urban services in India.

A) This loan supports the policies formulated by the Ministry of Housing and urban affairs (MoHUA) to benefit the urban poor, economically weaker sections and low-income groups.

B) Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 Scheme was recently launched to provide affordable housing to all, including poor, urban migrants and industrial workers.

4. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Chinese smart devices makes Oppo’s Indian arm to strengthen the Research and Development of NaviC Messaging Service, an Indian satellite navigation system.

A) NaviC stands for Navigation with Indian Constellation, which aims to provide an user-friendly platform.

B) NaviC is the regional geo-positioning system designed in India by ISRO to provide accurate P.N.T (Position, Navigation and Timing) of the Indian mainland.

5. National Land Monetization Corporation is meant to fasttrack the monetization of public sector land and other non-core assets.

a) The CPSE has earmarked 3,400 acres of land for monetization.

b) The National Land Monetization Corporation (NLMC) sets up a plan as per the budget announcement. It is a 100% entity owned by the Government of India.

c) NITI Aayog carried forward monetization of core assets, while monetization of non-core assets was driven by DIPAM.

6. Union Budget 2022-23, The finance minister announced the RAMP programme. This programme is to be implemented for 5 years.

A) RAMP is a post-COVID resilience and recovery programme. It aims to increase the competitiveness of MSME.

B) MSME contributes to the Indian economy by 40% of exports and 30 % of its GDP.

C) World Bank has provided 500 million USD to boost the MSMEs. 

7. Hoysala temples of Belur, Halebid and Somnathpur in Karnataka will be nominated by India for the World Heritage List for the year 2022-23.

A) Hoysala Temple is a protected monument of ASI.

B) The Hoysala dynasty existed in South India between 1110 A.D. to 1326 A.D. It was founded by Nripa Kama II.

C) The temple is famous for more than 240 wall sculptures running along the outer wall.

8. Antonio Costa is now the 119th Prime Minister of Portugal. 

A) Prime Minister of Portugal is the current title of head of government in Portugal.   

B) He was elected on November 26, 2015.

C) Portugal is located in Southwestern Europe and its capital is Lisbon.

D) Portugal is mainly a Mediterranean climate and the annual average temperature in mainland Portugal varies from 10–12°C.

9. World Wetland Day is celebrated on February 2 because the Convention on Wetlands was adopted on February 2, 1971, in Ramsar, Iran.

A) In India currently a total of 47 wetlands and their total surface area is 1 million hectares.

B) Last 30 Years India has lost 30% of its wetlands.

C) As important as wetlands they provide a barrier against disaster and a major role in water security.

10. Humbertium covidum is the newer flattened rhinoceros species and looks like a mini cobra. 

A) These insects are usually found in warm parts of the world.

B) These new species have been found hunting snails in Italy and France.

C) The length of H covidum is 3 cm and they can grow up to 40 cm and oxygen enters their body by diffusion.

D) They reproduce asexually and can be used to control snail populations.
