1. Madhabi Puri Buch became the first woman chairperson of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).

A) She will replace Ajay Tyagi as the chairman of SEBI.

B) As per the process of appointment of regulators, candidates are shortlisted by the Financial Sector Regulatory Appointments Search Committee (FSRASC), which is headed by the Cabinet Secretary.

C) FSRASC was set up as a “Standing Committee” based on the recommendation of the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission.

2. Janaushadhi Diwas week will be celebrated from 1st to 7th March 2022.

A) The theme of 4th Janaushadhi Day is ‘Jan Aushadhi – People’s Useful’.

B) The day aims to raise awareness about the benefits of using generic medicines and the Jan Aushadhi Project.

C) Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) was launched by the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers in 2008.

3. Air Marshal Sreekumar Prabhakaran took over the command of Western Air Command (WAC) based in Delhi on 01 March 2022.

A) He will succeed Air Marshal Amit Dev, who retired from the Indian Air Force on 28 February 2022.

B) Sreekumar Prabhakaran graduated from the National Defense Academy, Pune and joined the Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot on 22 December 1983.

4. The Government launched an International Monsoon Project Office (IMPO) on the occasion of National Science Day.

A) IMPO was established to highlight the importance of the monsoon for the country’s economy.

B) Establishment of IMPO will give a boost to monsoon research across the world, which will benefit both the Indian as well as international academic communities.

C) The United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) coordinates the World Meteorological Research Program and the World Climate Research Programmes.

5. International Women’s Day Week is being celebrated from 1st March as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by the Ministry of Women and Child Development.

A) The event aims to use it as an opportunity to celebrate progress towards gender equality and women’s empowerment.

B) The program is being organized in partnership with the Bureau of Police Research and Development to raise awareness about the safety and security of women.

6. India ranked 120th in the Sustainable Development Goal 2022.

A) The SDGs are a blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all.

B) Pakistan is ranked 129th in the Sustainable Development Goal 2022.

7. The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs revised the deadline for a long-delayed project to geotag all Waqf properties across India.

A) This project was started in 2017 under the ‘Quami Waqf Board Taraqqiati Yojana’.

B) Under the scheme, the government wanted to map the immovable properties under the waqf boards to ensure proper utilization and monetization.

C) Waqf is the permanent surrender of movable or immovable properties for religious or charitable purposes as recognized by Muslim law.

8. Sagar Parikrama, a program by the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, was launched from Gujarat.

A) During the event, progressive fishermen, especially coastal fishermen, will be provided certificates/clearances related to Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, KCC and State Scheme.

B) The Yatra to Sagar Parikrama will focus on a sustainable balance between the food security of the nation and the livelihoods of coastal fishing communities and the use of marine fishery resources for the protection of marine ecosystems.

9. The 19th edition of the India-US Military Cooperation Group (MCG) meeting was held in Agra, Uttar Pradesh.

A) The meeting was co-chaired by Air Marshal BR Krishna from the Indian side and Stephen D Skalenka from the US side.

B) The India-US MCG is a forum established to progress defence cooperation between countries through regular interactions at strategic and operational levels between Headquarters, Integrated Defense Staff and the US Indo-Pacific Command.

C) The discussions focused on strengthening the ongoing defence ties between the two sides and new initiatives were considered within the ambit of the existing cooperation mechanism.

10. The latest edition of the ISSF World Cup is being held in Cairo.

A) The International Shooting Sport Federation started the ISSF World Cup in 1986.

B) Saurabh Chaudhary won gold in men’s round in 10m pistol round and Isha Singh won silver in women’s round from India.
