A) The research centre is located in Chennai, funded by the Department of Atomic Energy.

2) The Defence Minister inaugurated Kalpana Chawla Centre for Research in Space Science and Technology (KCCRSST).

B) Objective is to train students in space science and satellite development.

C) It would be the ground station for Chandigarh University’s student satellite (CUSat).

3) Researchers discover two new plant species “Fimbristylis Sunilii” and “Neanotis Prabhuii” from Western Ghats and Wayanad district.

A) Fimbristylis Sunilli has been named after plant taxonomist CN Sunil.

B) Fimbristylis Sunilli is a perennial plant of the Cyperaceae family and designated as Data Deficient under IUCN Red List Categories.

C) Neonotis Prabhuii is a prostrate perennial herb named after KM Prabhukumar.

4) The Union Education Minister launches “National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) 3.0”.

A) It is launched as  a platform to provide best developed Ed tech solutions and courses to students in India.

B) Minister also launched AICTE prescribed Technical books in regional languages.

C) It will play a significant role in bridging the digital divide among economically disadvantaged students.

5) Union Minister Jitendra Singh launches a web portal for the Prime Minister Excellence Award registration.

A) The award is institutionalised in 2022 on the basis of performance of the district rather than collector of that district.

B) The prize money for the award has been doubled from 10lakhs to 20 lakhs.

C) Award is to recognise contribution of civil servants in innovation, end to end delivery of services, good Governance in Prime Minister Svanidhi scheme, digital payments etc.

6) Alka Mittal becomes the first woman Chairman and MD of ONGC.

A) The state run company has been functioning without CMD since the retirement of former chief Subhash Kumar.

B) She becomes the first woman to head the energy major.

C) ONGC is a Maharatna Company.

7) Government in Rajasthan to install a new lignin based Thermal Power plant in Bikaner’s Gudha West district.

A) Joint Action Plan is to enhance the States power generation capacity.

B) The Central Government’s Neyveli Lignite Corporation is already generating electricity in Gudha East.

C) Lignite is soft, brown, combustible, sedimentary rock formed from naturally compressed peat.

8) Five Global Nuclear Powers in a Joint statement pledge to prevent Atomic weapon spreading and avoid Nuclear conflict.

A) Statement was issued after the latest review of Treaty of Non Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

B) Statement comes as tensions between Russia and the US reach heights at the Ukrainian border.

C) Treaty of Non proliferation of Nuclear Weapons came into force in 1970.
