1. Europa Clipper is being developed by NASA which is an interplanetary mission and also has an orbiter.

A) The project started as a joint mission between the Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) and the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

B) The objective of this mission is to locate Europa, assist in the selection of a landing site for the future Europa lander, and investigate its habitability.

2. The two-day Study in India (SII) 2022 meeting was inaugurated by Vikram Doraiswamy, High Commissioner of India in Dhaka and Education Minister of Bangladesh Dipu Moni.

A) The Study in India program provides an opportunity to the future generations of both countries to engage in mutually beneficial and profitable ventures.

B) The objective of this program is to encourage international students to pursue higher education in India.

C) Since its inception, India has attracted students from over 150 countries from SAARC, South East Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Central Asia to study.

3. Scientists of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) in collaboration with several other research institutes have identified around 15,000 selected germplasm of rice and wheat for developing varieties.

A) Agricultural scientists have collected rice and wheat from the gene bank run by the National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources (NBPGR) in Delhi as part of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) project to develop better crop varieties to tackle climate change.

B) There are about 4 lakh accessions in the collection of the gene bank.

C) Three different types of disease-resistant Basmati rice have been developed by IARI which are PB 1847, PB 1886 and PB 1885.

4. Presenting the Budget 2022-23 in the Himachal Pradesh State Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced that the Member of Legislative Assembly Local Area Development (MLALAD) fund would be increased from Rs 1.80 crore to Rs 2 crore.

A) Presenting his fifth and last budget, the CM said that a total increase of Rs 90 lakh has been made in MLAD during his tenure.

B) MLALAD is the funds allocated by various states to their MLAs for the development of their respective constituencies.

5. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal announced an investment of over ₹100 crores for the AYUSH healthcare sector in Nagaland.

A) An Ayurvedic college with 30 bedded AYUSH hospital and three 10 bedded hospitals will also be developed in the state from the allocated funds.

B) To promote higher education in AYUSH, the Union Minister announced the establishment of a state-of-the-art Ayurvedic College at Longleng and the cost of this college has been estimated at Rs.70 crore.

6. Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 (SBM-U 2.0) National Conference on “Social Enterprise for Waste Free Cities” and Promotion of Women Entrepreneurs in Waste Management under the aegis of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) held in Raipur did.

A) Around 100 delegates including senior bureaucrats and employees from 19 states participated in the event.

B) The day-long program began with a cleanliness drive at Mahabodhi Ghat with representatives of NSS, NCC cadets and local NGOs.

7. The Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) developed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is used in the radar imaging satellite module of EOS 04, which was launched by ISRO on 14 February 2022.

A) Multiple Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuit (MMIC) was designed/ developed and manufactured at Solid State Physics Laboratory (SSPL) and Gallium Arsenide Enabling Technology Center (GAETEC) Foundry of DRDO.

B) Defense Research and Development Organization works under the Ministry of Defense and is headquartered in Delhi.

8. DefExpo 2022 to be held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat has been postponed due to logistics problems.

A) The event is expected to help boost investments, expand manufacturing capacity and capabilities to advance the target of defence exports of $5 billion by 2024.

B) DefExpo is a major biennial event of the Ministry of Defence, Navy, Air and Homeland Security Systems.

9. Under the nationwide vaccination campaign, 9.178.55 crore vaccine doses have been given so far.

A) India’s active caseload currently stands at 63,878.

B) Active cases are 0.15 percent and the recovery rate currently stands at 98.65 per cent.

10. In continuation of Modernization Plan-III for CAPFs, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) approved the Modernization Plan-IV for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) Scheme.

A) The scheme will run from 1 February 2022 to 31 March 2026 with a total financial outlay of Rs 1,523 crore and will be implemented by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

B) Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) refers to the similar nomenclature of the seven Central Armed Police Organizations in India which are overseen by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

C) Under this project the CAPFs will be equipped with modern state-of-the-art equipment and weapons as per the operational requirements keeping in mind their deployment pattern in different theatres.
