1) The Organisation for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) tells the UNSC about the use of Chemical weapons in Syria.

A) Syria was pressed to join the chemical weapons convention in 2013 by its close ally Russia.

B) In 2014 President Bahar Al Assad’s govt declared that destruction of its chemical weapons was completed.

2) Indian Railways working in mission mode to become “Largest Green Railways” in the world.

A) IR is moving towards becoming “Net Zero Carbon Emitter” before 2030.

B) Railway Electrification has increased 10 times since 2014.

C) 19 Railway stations have also achieved Green Certification.

3) G7 advanced economies signed a landmark deal on taxing multinational companies.

A) As per deal minimum Global Tax Rate would be at least 15 %.

B) Agreement was signed by the Finance Ministers of the UK, USA, Germany, Canada, France,  Italy and Japan.

C) Under new tax countries where big firms operate would get the right to tax at least 20% of profits.

4) PM Modi extended greetings on 24 years of establishment of  BIMSTEC on June 6, 2021.

A) BIMSTEC is an acronym for Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation.

B) Myanmar was included in the group in 1997.

C) It Connects South and South East Asia besides the ecologies of Great Himalayas and Bay of Bengal.

5) Education Minister Ramesh Pokhariya approved the release of the Performance Grading Index(PGI) 2019-20.

A) It provides grading to states and UT on the basis of 70 parameters to assess and catalyse Transformational change in education.

B) Chandigarh, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Andaman  and Nicobar Islands and Kerala attained the highest grade.

C) Ladakh was graded for the first time and was placed in Grade VII.

6) India’s rank dropped by two places to 117 according to State of India’s Environmental report 2021.

A) The ranking is done on the basis of performance in 17 SDGs.

B) SDG Goals were adopted as a part of the 2030 agenda by 193 UN member states in 2015.

C) India  was ranked below four South Asian countries Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan and Bangladesh.

7) Raimona Reserve forest upgraded to the 6th national park of Assam.

A) Forest comes under Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) across the borders with Bhutan.

B) Assam already has 5 national parks namely Kaziranga, Manas, Nameri, Orang, Dibru Saikhowa.
