1) Union Finance Ministry releases Revenue Deficit grant of 9871 crores to 17 states.

A) Centre has released a total of 38,484 crores to all eligible states in Financial Year 2021-22.

B) The 15th Finance Commission had recommended a total revenue deficit grant of Rs 1,18,452 crore in Financial Year 2021-22 to 17 states.

C) Article 275 provides for payment of the amount that parliament may provide as grants in aid to states which are in need of assistance.

8) The Union Cabinet approves the new scheme “India Covid 19 Emergency Response and Health System Preparedness Package: Phase II”.

A) The scheme has been allocated Rs 23,123 crores for Financial Year 2022.

B) The phase II of the package has Central Sector and Centrally Sponsored Schemes components.

C) NCDC would be strengthened by providing Genome Sequencing machines.
