I welcome you all to “Today in History by Hranker.com”. Here, we will discuss some of the major events in the history of 13th of June, 163rd day of the year and 24th Sunday of 2021.
1) Today in 1290 the Khalji Dynasty was established.
It was established with the accession of Jalal-ud-din Khalji as Sultan of Delhi. Jalal Ud din was originally a military officer in the army of the Mamluk Dynasty. He was murdered by his nephew Alauddin Khalji who was the greatest of all Khalji rulers.
2) Today in 1909 First CM of Kerala and first non INC CM in India E.M.S Namboodiripad was born.
He was an Indian Communist Politician. He pioneered radical land and Educational reforms in Kerala.
3) Today in 1940 Revolutionary Leader Udham Singh was hanged.
He was hanged for charges of assassination of Micheal O Dair, who was the governor general of Punjab at the time of jalianwala Baug Massacare.
4) Today in 1943 Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose started his journey from Germany to Tokyo by a submarine.
After being disillusioned that Germany could be of any help in gaining India’s independence, Bose travelled with German submarine U-180 around Cape of Good Hope where he was transferred to L-29 for the rest of the journey to Imperial Japan.
5) Today in 2000 Historic meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong II and South Korean President Kim Dae Jung took place.
The summit marked the first meeting between leaders of both the countries after Korean War.
