1) Today in 1806 First Major mutiny by Indian Sepoys “Vellore Mutiny” took place.
The mutiny lasted for only a single day and its brutal suppression was responsible for the sepoys from the south not taking part in the Great Revolt of 1857.
2) Today in 1927 Social Reformer Ganga Ram died.
He was an Indian Civil engineer and architect. He is described as Father of Modern Lahore. He is the founder of Ganga Ram hospital in Delhi.
3) Today in 1964 Bangalore University was established in Karnataka.
It is a public state university located in Bengaluru, Karnataka. University is part of Association of Indian Universities(AIU),ACU and affiliated by UGC.
4) Today in 1978 Mahatma Phule Backward Class Development Corporation was established.
The organization aims at the development of the socially backward class people in India.The social strata which is known as backward class represents the downtrodden classes of the society.
