I welcome you all to “Today in History by Hranker.com”. Here, we will discuss some of the major events in the history of 22nd of July, 202nd day of the year and 27th Thursday of 2021.
1) Today in 1947 The National Flag of India was adopted.
The Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Swaraj Flag as the National flag of sovereign India with the Ashok Chakra replacing the spinning wheel.
2) Today in 1918 India’s first fighter pilot Indra Lal Rai’s plane was shot down during World War I.
It was shot down by German Planes near London. Rai had fought for the Britishers Force.
He shot down two of the enemy aircrafts.
3) Today in 1988 INSAT -1C was launched from Kourou. It was third in the first generation INSAT series of satellites.
The government agencies using its services were All India Radio, Doordarshan, Department of Space and IMD.
