I welcome you all to “Today in History by Hranker.com”. Here, we will discuss some of the major events in the history of 11th of August, 222nd day of the year and 30th Wednesday of 2021.
1) Today in 1908 Revolutionary Leader Khudiram Bose was hanged.
He was India’s youngest revolutionary freedom fighter and was hanged when he was 18 years old. Khudiram Bose decided to murder Magistrate of Muzaffarpurnamr Kingsford by bombing his carriage. Although the carriage was not occupied by the wife and daughter of barrister Kennedy.
2) Today in 1956 Lok Sabha passed the States Reorganisation act.
The act was enacted on 31st duvet and came into effect on November 1. The act alters existing terminology of Part A, Part B, Part C and Part D. It was a major reform of the boundaries of India’s states and territories organising them along linguistic lines.
3) Today in 1961 the Tenth amendment gave Union Territory status to Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
In december 2019 Parliament of India passed legislation to merge Dadra and Nagar Haveli with nearby UT of Daman and Diu to create a single union territory. Dadra and Nagar Haveli became one of the three districts of this new union territory.
