I welcome you all to “Today in History by Hranker.com”. Here, we will discuss some of the major events in the history of September 11th of September, 253rd day of the year and 35th Saturday of 2021.
1) Today in 1895 Vinoba Bhave who started the Bhoodan Movement was born.
He was born in Gagode Village,Raigad, Maharashtra. He was a keen follower of Mahatma Gandhi. He was an avid social reformer throughout his life. He started the Bhoodan Movement in 1951 that aimed at reducing the gap between rich and poor.
2) Today in 1893 Swami Vivekananda represented Hinduism at Chicago’s parliament of World’s Religions.
It was the first ever interfaith gathering, dramatically enlightening Western Opinion to the depth of Hindu Philosophy and culture. Delegates from all around the world joined the Parliament.
3) Today in 1948 Muhammad Ali Jinnah died.
He was a barrister, politician and founder of Pakistan. He served as leader of All India Muslim League from 1913 until inception of Pakistan in 1947. He is revered as the Quaid-i-Azam and Baba-I-Quam.
