I welcome you all to “Today in History by Hranker.com”. Here, we will discuss some of the major events in the history of 14th of September, 256th day of the year and 35th Tuesday of 2021.
1) Today in 1949 Hindi was adopted as the Official language of the Union of India.
Day is celebrated as Hindi Diwas in India. In 1950 Hindi in Devanagari script was declared as the official language of India. The 8th schedule has a list of 22 officially recognised Indian Languages.
2) Today in 1893 Celebration of “Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav” started.
Ganesh Chaturthi is a Hindu festival celebrating the arrival of Lord Ganesha to earth from Kailash Parbat. The festival is marked with installation of Lord Ganesha clay murtis privately in homes and publicly by Shri Bal Gangadhar Tilak in Pune.
3) Today in 1923 Ram Jethmalani, famous law expert and politician, was born.
He served as India’s Union Minister of law and justice, as chairman of the Indian Bar Council and President of Supreme Court Bar Association. He worked to improve relations between India and Pakistan.
