1) Today in 1921 Moplah Rebellion or Moplah Riots took place.

It took place in the Malabar region of present day Kerala. The Moplah were mostly cultivators. The Moplah rebellion was a failure because of Communal element in it.

2) Today in 1828 Brahmo Samaj was established.

It is the societal component of Brahmoism which began as a Monotheistic reformist movement of Hindu religion. It was started in Calcutta by Raja Ram Mohan Roy and Dwarkanath Tagore.

3) Today in 2004 First Akshay Urja Diwas was celebrated by the Indian Government.

It was an awareness campaign about renewable energy in India.Indian ministry of new and Renewable energy Sources initiated Akshay Urja Day. Day commemorates the birthday of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
