1) Today in 2019 Global Climate Strike was concluded.
The September 2019 climate strikes, also known as the Global Week for Future, were a series of international strikes and protests to demand action be taken to address climate change, which took place from 20–27 September 2019.
2) Today in 1833 Social Reformer Raja Ram Mohan Roy died.
Raja Ram Mohan Roy was an Indian reformer who was one of the founders of the Brahmo Sabha, the precursor of the Brahmo Samaj, a social-religious reform movement in the Indian subcontinent. He was given the title of Raja by Akbar II, the Mughal emperor.
3) Today in 1996 Civil war started due to the capture of Kabul by Taliban.
By nightfall, the Taliban had conquered Kabul. Taliban’s leader Muhammad Umar appointed his deputy, Mullah Muhammad Rabbani, as head of a national ruling council which was called Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. By now, the Taliban controlled most of Afghanistan.
