1) Today in 1990 Prasar Bharati Bill was passed.
The Act provided for establishment of a broadcasting corporation of India called Prasar Bharti. The act came into effect on 15 September 1997. The Act brought both DD and AIR under the ambit of the corporation Prasar Bharti. Prasar Bharti is India’s Public Service Broadcaster.
2) Today in 1965 India crossed the International Border with Pakistan (Radcliffe Line) making an official beginning of the Indo-Pak border.
Pakistani Soldiers dressed as local Kashmiris had earlier crossed the LOC in August 1965. India crossed the International Border on Western front on September 6.
3) Today in 1972 the Munich Massacre took place.
9 Israeli athletes were taken hostage at the Munich Olympic Games and killed by a Palestinian terrorist group during the rescue attempt. It was an attack during the 1972 Summer Olympics in west Germany by eight members of the Palestinian terrorist group.
